Description
SL100, ideal for beginners
The SL100 model, particularly affordable for this category of instrument, features a solid red cedar top paired with mahogany back and sides, finished in a beautiful satin sheen. This wood combination provides a warm tone with pronounced midrange and a smooth dynamic response, equally suited to solo and accompaniment playing.
Dedicated semi-rigid case — protection and practicality
Each SWING LÂG guitar comes with a dedicated gig bag, specially designed for the Gypsy shape. Generously padded and featuring a semi-rigid structure, it provides excellent protection against impacts while remaining lightweight and easy to carry. Designed for everyday use as well as travel, it combines security, comfort, and practicality, allowing you to accompany your instrument everywhere with complete peace of mind.
LÂG pays homage to the tradition of French Gypsy jazz with the SWING LÂG series
Born in the 1930s with Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club de France, Gypsy jazz forged a new musical identity. At the same time, in Paris, the Italian luthier Mario Maccaferri created an iconic guitar that would come to define the sound and silhouette of this unique genre.
The SWING LÂG series pays homage to this heritage by combining historical inspiration, renowned craftsmanship, meticulous design, and a sense of harmony.
Tradition of "small mouth" and modern reliability
True to the historical construction of Gypsy jazz guitars, the SWING LÂG models adopt the traditional "small mouth" shape. Prized for its precise projection and defined articulation in solo playing, it also proves remarkably effective for rhythm playing, offering a quick response and excellent rhythmic clarity.
These instruments rely on the fundamental elements that shape the authentic sound of the genre: a wooden bridge, a metal tailpiece for optimal vibration transmission and a characteristic attack, as well as Argentine strings, renowned for their clarity, tension and responsiveness.
While the openwork headstock and metal-shaft tuners maintain the original aesthetic and spirit, they incorporate oil-bath tuners for precise and stable tuning. The assembly is completed by a double-action truss rod, ensuring fine-tuning of the neck and increased long-term reliability.
The result: instruments that combine sonic authenticity with modern requirements, capable of standing out in the mix while preserving the dynamic richness inherent to gypsy jazz.
